Church Unity This Christmas Time

On 1st December 2011, Christians in over 55 cities in nations around the world gathered to pray. The prayer initiative called 7:14 started as three cities last March. This December, on six continents, people gathered to seek God for their churches, communities and nations, as it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (KJV)
In St Helens, over sixty Christians braved the cold and rain to meet in Victoria Square. Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, United Reformed Church, Elim, Pentecostal, freechurch – all met to unite in prayer.
People in our communities are hurting. The Church must be united, vocal and visible. Full of compassion and love, ready to help and serve. 7:14 is about encouraging Christians to step out in unity.
