Together for the Harvest invite you to be part of:

A SECOND YEAR OF CONTINUOUS PRAYER IN THE MERSEY REGION COVERING EVERY WEEK OF 2010.

It is a great way for churches to pray together for the nation, the region and local communities and to show our sense of being of one spirit in seeking a transformation that affects every sphere of life in our region. As in 2009 the idea is to have churches who will take responsibility for one of the 52 weeks of 2010

As in 2009, each church would pray during their chosen week, using its own chosen style and means, involving a variety of expressions of prayer.

As is 2009, when each church reaches the end of their particular week of prayer, a representative from that church will visit the next in line on Sunday morning to pray blessing on them and to pass on a physical “baton” in the form of a prayer diary for each participating church to use to record the week.

Students Speak Out Against Gun and Knife Crime

“No guns. No knives. No loss of lives. You have a choice!” That is the message that 350 students from the Norris Green and Croxteth areas of Liverpool are trying to get out. Liam Moore along with the student choir called A Voice of One have released a single called “You’re the Voice.”

All proceeds of the song will go to community projects combating gun and knife crime and the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund.

What they are doing has implications far beyond Liverpool.

ST HELENS NATIVITY AND LANTERN PROCESSION

SHINE and the St Helens Council invite you to come along on Thursday the 17th of December to join in the Christmas Celebrations. This year the lantern procession and the Nativity play will be held on the same night for one spectacular, joyous evening of praise. The lantern procession and entertainment will begin at 6pm in the Church Square, followed by the Nativity at 6:30pm.

This year’s Nativity play is entitled ‘The Heart of Christmas’ and is a contemporary look at the birth of our Saviour Jesus and what it means for us today. There will be singing and even modern street dancing! We hope that God’s children of all ages (0-100+) will enjoy this year’s time of celebration together.

So come on St Helens! Let’s come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Learn to Pray: Part of the 2009 Year of Continuous Prayer in the Mersey Region

St. Helens Baptist Church on Hall Street are hosting an interactive prayer labyrinth to help you join in praying for your community. The labyrinth will be open from 11am - 2pm, Monday 4th to Saturday 9th October 2009.
