A Unique Opportunity to be part of a walk of witness starting from the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and involving churches from North, South, East and West of the Merseyside region.

SHINE is encouraging the churches of St Helens to get involved, with banners, costumes, music and as much noise as possible as we bear witness to Jesus Christ on the streets of the largest city in our area.

The Pageant wil be followed by a Gospel music street festival organised by the churches as part of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year.

  1. Economic Development and Enterprise
  2. Healthier Communities and Older People
  3. Communities and Neighbourhoods
  4. Safer Communities
  5. Children and Young People

The Churches are represented on all these groups.

The Board, which meets monthly, has recently been considering:

  • The Local Area Agreement - which establishes the indicators for measuring progress in development
  • Proposed New Growth Points for St Helens - within the overall strategy for Merseyside
  • The strategy for housing developments and renewal

Please pray that the Church representatives to these groups are able to have appropriate input and involvement.

20th February,  5th & 19th March,  2nd, 16th & 30th April
at St Mark’s Church, West End Road, Haydock.
It will be led by Revd Dr Hannah Lewis & Keith Howard.
This six week course is for anyone, clergy or lay, who has passed Level 1 BSL or higher and would like to learn about using it in a Christian context. It covers commonly used church vocabulary, plus thinking about how we sign liturgy, bible readings and hymns. It is suitable for anyone who has passed their level 1 BSL, although the general standard of the course is level 2.
